Power Rangers SPD Birthday Party

Power Rangers SPD Birthday Party!

Power Rangers

(click here for a birthday supply checklist)

Welcome Ideas:

  • Let the kids choose a Power Rangers character that they like and put that name on their nametag along with the child's name. Ex., Adam the Green Ranger.
  • Since the Power Rangers are each identified with a specific color, let your guests be that color for the day. Let them know in advance to dress in the color of their favorite Power Ranger.

Games:

  • Relay races: an old favorite of ours at parties! Set up a race in the backyard (weather permitting) to test their skills as a Power Ranger. Have them carry raw eggs on a spoon as part of a relay race, or balloons between their knees, roll a ball on the lawn using their nose...anything that's fun and goofy works well!
  • Balloon mission: Give your aspiring Power Rangers a mission to transport the precious birthday balloons! If weather permits, this activity should be done outdoors; a spacious room is a good alternative too. You’ll need an inflated balloon for each guest at your party.

To begin, pair each child with someone who is about the same height. Line them up standing back to back at a starting line. Place a balloon between the backs of each pair. When you say go, each “Power Pair” must shuffle their way to the finish line (or across the room) without dropping or popping the balloon, and without using hands! Dropping or popping a balloon means a pair must go back and start over.

To make the game more challenging, use additional balloons. Once a pair has successfully transported their first balloon to the finish line, they drop it, run back to the start line, and get a new balloon to transport. Repeat the process until they’ve transported the required number balloons. The first to finish, wins! (See Birthday Express for more ideas like this)

Activities:

  • Scratch Magic: give each guest their own scratch magic pad to draw an action picture of the Power Rangers in action. Their imaginations are the only limit, and they'll get a surprise of color as they scratch their picture!

  • Soul Bird Boxes: let teams of kids design and decorate their own Soul Bird vehicles from refrigerator boxes you pick up at an appliance store. You can have them color them, use glitter glue and craft foam to make special markings or a pilot panel, or use paint if you're daring! Have a contest for the best Power Rangers aircraft, and then let them have adventures in them.

Food:

  • Power Rice Crispies: Make rice crispy treats and cut them out in dumbbell shapes for your hungry Power Rangers!
  • Power Ranger Juicies: Create your own juice shakes using ice cream or sherbert, ice, fresh fruit, and juice. Got to keep your energy up!
  • Megazord Sandwiches: Get a variety of meats and have each Power Ranger guest create his own Megazord sandwich. Then they can devour their enemy and get energized!! (I hope that doesn't sound too gross :-)
