Parent and Mom Groups in San Jose

Mom's Support Groups

Las Madres Neighborhood Playgroups

  • The main purpose of Las Madres is to provide a network of neighborhood playgroups for those with children born in the same year. Through Las Madres playgroups, members find friendship, support and helpful information as well as an opportunity for their children to make friends their own age. Las Madres Neighborhood Playgroups currently covers almost all of Santa Clara County and is run entirely by volunteers who are mothers, fathers and/or caretakers of young children. While most members are mothers, we warmly welcome fathers, grandparents, aunts and nannies to participate.

MOPs International

  • MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS International exists to meet the needs of every mom - urban, suburban, and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single, and married moms - moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS helps moms through relationships established in the context of local groups that provide a caring atmosphere for today's mother of young children.
  • For a list of their local groups, visit their search page.
  • MOPS also does a daily radio spot that you can listen to on the Internet (click here), or you can receive the transcript via email (click here). I get the email version which is quick to read and very encouraging!

MOMS Club

  • The MOMS Club of San Jose, CA is a chapter of the International MOMS (MOMS Offering Moms Support) Club, a nonprofit organization specifically for at-home mothers. Whether you stay home full-time, work outside the house part-time, or have a home business, if you are with your kids during the day, they have lots of activities for you.

Mothers and More

  • Mothers & More is an international not-for-profit organization supporting sequencing women -- mothers who have altered their career paths in order to care for their children at home. They meet regularly in parks for playgroups, have moms' night out, and publish a bi-monthly newsletter.

Parents Helping Parents (PHP)

  • Parents Helping Parents is a family resource center with programs for parents and their children with special needs. They have a very extensive website with information on their programs, news for families, an events calendar, and links to helpful websites.
