Lilo and Stitch Birthday Party
 Lilo & Stitch
Click above for Lilo and Stitch birthday party supplies.
Invitations/Decorations:
- It's easy to think Hawaian for this party. Do something
different -- hand out leis with the party details written on a tag that
you can tie on. Make the tag in the shape of a flower to fit in with the
lei better. Hand deliver for more excitement.
- Cut surfboard shapes from construction paper,
decorating the front with markers and stickers, and writing the party details
on the back. Try using Lilo and Stitch stickers so your guests will know
your party theme.
- Use invitations from the Lilo & Stitch
birthday kit, with a Lilo
and Stitch picture
on the front.
- Ask your guests to dress in a favorite Hawaiian
shirt, shorts, and grass skirts. Greet everyone with a warm and friendly
"Aloha!" and pass out sunglasses for them to wear.
- Decorate with tiki torches and surfboards.
Games:
- Musical Mats
- Everyone knows that Lilo loves rock-n-roll, so your guests are sure to enjoy
this version of Musical Chairs. Instead of chairs, use beach mats or beach
towels laid out in a large play area. Use one less mat or towel than there are
players and play some classic tunes (Elvis’ Hunka, Hunka Burnin’ Love is
recommended.) When the music stops, players rush to sit on a beach mat. The
player who is left without a mat is out of the game. Continue removing a beach
mat each round until you have a winner!
- Lilo and Stitch Prize Bounce -
Stitch, the renegade alien that Lilo adopts as a pet, is known for the havoc
he wreaks due to his destructive behavior. This game allows your guests to act
like Stitch without destroying your home!
Before the party, insert a small, lightweight party favor such as a sticker
into the opening of a balloon before inflating it. Then, blow air into the
balloon and repeat until you have a balloon for each guest. Decorate the party
area with the balloons as you normally would. When the party is almost over,
give a balloon to each guest. Tell everyone they must pop the balloon by sitting
on, jumping on, kicking it, etc. They’ll love the great surprise they find
inside and will have a lot of fun acting like Stitch while trying to pop the
balloon!
- Hula Hoop Competition -
Teach the kids how to use a hula hoop, and then let them see who can go
the longest before the hoop hits the ground.
- Water Balloons - Have the guests
team up into groups of two, each with one water balloon. While facing each
other, the teams toss the balloon back and forth, backing up one step after
each throw. Whichever team keeps their balloon from breaking while farthest
apart, wins. Or, just let them all throw water balloons at each other (!).
- Play the Limbo! 'Nuff said.
- Lip Sync with Stitch - Let the kids
take turns singing to their favorite songs, or teach them a traditional
Hawaiian song.
- Lilo and Stitch Bingo - Using Lilo
and Stitch clipart, make your own bingo cards (remember, each one must be
unique), and an extra set of each image. The extras you can cut up and place
in a bowl for drawing. Use shells to cover each bingo square as it is drawn.
3 in a row wins! Or play blackout, where all nine squares must be covered
to win. Some links to Lilo and Stitch clipart:
Activities/Crafts:
- Make it a swim party if you have access
to a pool, or buy an inexpensive kiddie pool to play in.
- Make your own Lilo and Stitch skirt:
using string, tie it around each guest's waist. Staple or tape streamers
from the string (green for a grass skirt). You can also decorate your garbage
cans, coolers, and ice buckets with mini-grass skirts.
- Shell Picture Frames - give each guest an
inexpensive frame or make one from stiff cardboard. Have an assortment of
shells that they can glue on their frames as a take home favor. You can
also take a picture of each guest with the birthday child, and insert it
in the frame.
- Stitch Ukelali - Start with a child's shoe
box for each guest. Let them decorate it with markers, paper, etc. Once
it is done, stretch 3 or 4 rubber bands around the box, and attach a paint
stir stick on the back for the neck of the instrument. Now, hold a concert!
Food
- Serve tropical trail mix in bowls around
the party.
- Buy cocktail drink umbrellas and serve punch
with bits of pineapple, ice, and place an umbrella in each glass.
- Make fruit kabobs with pineapple, grapes,
apples, strawberries, or anything firm that is in season.
- If you're adventurous, roast some pork for
pull apart shredded pork sandwiches.
- Check out the volcano cake on our Birthday
Cake page.
